Colorectal Cancer Alliance: No Excuses
Colorectal cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States, claiming over 50,000 lives each year. One in 24 people will be diagnosed in their lifetime, with most cases detected at late stages. It’s now the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in men under 50 and the second in women under 50, with rates among younger adults doubling since the 1990s.
Despite being one of the few preventable cancers, many people delay screening, often making excuses. Screening should begin at 45 for those at average risk and even earlier for those with risk factors. A colonoscopy not only detects cancer early but can prevent it by removing precancerous polyps—yet one-third of eligible adults skip screening, with only 20% of those 45-49 getting tested.
Getting screened could save your life. To encourage more people to take action and stop making excuses, CCA has launched this OOH PSA campaign - to learn more go to GetScreened.org.
